about how you work as a team.

The Principles of GLIDE:

GROWTH

We focus on encouraging a growth mind set and learning, rather than a narrow focus on goals. It’s about our thinking, rather than trying to behave in prescribed leadership ways.

LEADERSHIP

We encourage teams to think about leadership as a team sport to bring balance and alignment to the team.

INSTINCT

We encourage teams to develop their collective instinct.

DISCIPLINE

We focus on doing the basics well, to highlight the power of deliberate practice to hone effective habits and communication.

ENERGY

We explore energy in motion (emotion), to develop resilience, align well-being, confidence and performing meaningful work together.

Join us and experience glide for yourselves

Experience the power of teamwork in the heart of Oxford. Discover the joys of rowing together, supported by a team of experienced coaches. It’s not just about learning to row together. It’s about having fun and drawing on your experience to build a sense of one team, together. Enjoy spending time together both on the river and in the City of Oxford Rowing Bar and Café, where you can design your own wood fired pizza or enjoy a glass of wine to celebrate together at the end of a rewarding day. When last did you try something new for the first time?

Our professional team of coaches will guide your team throughout the day. The team coaching programme includes land based training with an experienced sports scientist to build confidence before heading out onto the water. Once you have mastered the art of the rowing, you can enjoy reflecting on what you have learnt together. Experienced team coaches are available to optimise your team experience. Why stay in the office when you can learn so much more learning to row?

Oxford team leadership coaching offers the impetus for growth, in the same way that a rowing stroke covers a metre of water, but lets the boat glide for over 10 metres. It’s about setting up the team to work with ease and grow their mastery as they work. It allows them to experiment with new ideas to find the glide, where the team are balanced and enjoying being connected in challenging work that allows them to perform at their best.

It’s not just about speed and effort that you put into your work. It’s a balance between the effort you put in, the balance you maintain and the “run” of the boat as you recover. We encourage teams to set up their work effectively, so that the effort that goes in delivers the best impact for the work done and allows the team time out for recovery and growth.

Rowing is as simple or complex as you would like it to be and anyone can learn. You don’t have to have any previous experience. If you can swim (we’ve never had anyone in the river) and do a basic squat, then you can learn to row.
